McCoy’s memories are marked with ///.
Jim Kirk placed a sweet kiss on green Vulcan lips, both satisfied and tired, he snuggled into the strong embrace.
“Have I already thanked you for saving my ass with your talent for chess?”
“Jim, I knew that you could not have done the crime you were accused of. The only logical conclusion was a problem with the computer, so I tried to prove this right. Besides…”
Spock let his hands travel down Jims back. “…I always wished to save your sexy ass and I like the way you have just thanked me for performing my duty.”
Jim laughed. “You’re a hot and horny Vulcan, my dear.” He yawned “But I’m tired right now. I'll thank you again tomorrow. This welcome-back-party has really worn me out. But do you know, what’s wrong with Bones? He wasn’t there for long”
I am not surprised, Jim. First, to think his lover is dead, killed by his best friend ... and then to discover it was only a ruse to destroy you ..."
“His what!?!” Jim was suddenly sitting upright in the bed. “Finney is Bones' lover?”
“You did not know, Jim?” Spock arched an eyebrow in surprise.
“I had no idea. How the hell did you know?”
“On Taurus II I accidentally overheard Dr. McCoy making a recording for Lieutenant Commander Finney in case we would not have been saved in time."
“And why didn’t you tell me?” Jim shouted.
“Jim, I honor Dr. McCoy’s right of privacy. And because he is your best friend I assumed that he would confide in you as soon as he freely wished to do so.”
Jim sighed. “You’re right of course. I apologize. I’m stunned. Bones is gay! I never would have thought. The same goes for Ben.”
“Taking into account the fact that both were once married to a woman and have a daughter I would classify them as bisexual not homosexual.”
Jim rose to his feet and reached for his clothes. “Where are you going?” Spock asked.
"I've got to see Bones."
“Shall I accompany you?”
“No. It’s better I talk with him alone.” Jim put his shirt on, and then gave Spock another kiss. “Till later, love.”
“Bones, please open up now.” Jim Kirk hit the buzzer again.
“Go away. I want to be alone.” The voice sounded drunken and tired.
“I’m not going. We have to talk. Whether you let me in now or I use me override code.”
Slurping sounds, then the door slide open. “Come in.” McCoy grumbled, “What do you want from me?”
“I’m so sorry, Bones. I never meant for this to happen."
“Nothing happened. You’re free again. That’s fine.” McCoy stumbled in his seat and reached for a well-filled glass. But Jim was quicker and pushed it ways. “You've had enough.”
“That’s not your business.” Leonard shouted.
Jim put his hand on McCoy’s shoulder. “I know about you and Ben.” He said quietly
“How do you know that?”
“Spock overheard you making a recording for him on Taurus II. He just told me.”
“Those damn Vulcan ears.” The doctor mumbled.
“Bones, why didn’t you tell me? I thought we were friends”
“Did you tell me about you and Spock? I had to find it out by stumbling in your cabin and catching you kissing each other.”
“That’s not the same. You know Spock’s need for privacy and he wasn’t acquainted with you then. So I accepted his wish to be discrete for a while. But we’re old friends.”
“I haven’t noticed much of this lately. You had Spock… and I felt lonely. Ben could fill the emptiness... or at least I thought he could. I’m not sure anymore.”
Leonard sighed. “I’m so tired, Jim. I don’t know what to think or feel right now.”
Jim pulled a second chair near and took a seat. ”I’m here, Bones. If you wish to talk… The medicine you’ve prescribed me in bad situations was always a good drink and a talk with a friend. Of the first I think you’ve had enough, but the second…”
McCoy nodded. “Got me with my own weapons, huh? Okay, you’re right. It started, shortly before this incident with the Galileo.”
“That was it, Mr. Finney. You’re check-up is over. You’re in excellent health.” Leonard McCoy put his scanner aside and stood back from the bio-bed.
Benjamin Finney jumped with a smooth motion to his feet. “There’s something I would like to talk to you about in private, Doctor. If you can spare me some time…”
“Sure. You can come to my cabin after the shift.”
“He told me that he had fallen in love with me. I was stunned… at first. I mean, I’m not a teenager who falls in love every minute, and I don’t have your reputation, which would explain why others do so with me. In any case, I though we had both been alone for too long… why shouldn’t we help each other? I hadn't known him all that closely before, but I soon found I really liked him. I thought I had fallen in love.”
He paused for a moment. “Besides he was a stallion in bed.”
“Gosh.” Leonard pushed hungrily back on the steel-hard invader of his body and moaned. “That’s so good.”
“Oh, Len, Len...“ Ben Finney repeated the name of his lover again and again during his wild, hard fucking.
“I needed the sex, too. I just was too long abstinent. I really desired him, but he never let me… I mean he always wanted to be dominant.”
Leonard’s finger teased the puckering opening. He was just about to push it inside as Finney stopped him. “No Len, not now. Let me fuck you first. I’m too horny for your sexy ass. You can later take me.”
But later never occurred.
McCoy threw his hands up to his face. “Now when I think it over. He never said again, that he loved me. I fear, he always needed me to quench his lust and… what is worse for me, to find out how to harm you. He refused to speak with me after he was arrested. Jim, probably everything that happened to you, was my fault. If I not…”
“Stop it, Bones!” Jim pulled Leonard’s hands in his own. “What happened was a problem between Ben and myself. He was jealous of my success. It had nothing to do with you. Believe me, please. “
“But if I hadn’t…”
Jim interrupted him. “Have you told him something that he couldn’t have find out otherwise?”
“Okay. Then you’ve no need to torture yourself. Bones, I feel such pity for you. You deserve a person who really loves you so much. And I surely hope you will find him or her soon. And I promise not to neglect you so much in the future. Feeling better now?”
Leonard nodded. “Thank you, Jim. And now…” I shallow smile crossed his lips. “I suppose Spock’s waiting for you.”
“Yeah, you’re right. I should go now.” Jim rose to his feet as the door buzzed. McCoy, with a quick nod, gave him permission to open it.
Jim was somewhat surprised as McCoy’s new assistant, Dr. M’Benga, stepped in. Kirk really was happy to have an expert on Vulcan physiology on board. He trusted McCoy’s competence but when it came to Spock… better two good doctors then only one.
“I apologize for disturbing you at this late hour” M’Benga said. “There’s something I wish to discuss with you.”
Jim smiled. There should be no need to contact Bones right now except for an emergency in sick-bay. And in this case M’Benga hadn’t been so confident. That could only mean the young doctor was also worrying about his boss.
„Come in, Geoff.” McCoy gestured his colleague to take the now vacant second seat. "Good night Jim… and thank you.”
“Good night, Bones, Doctor.”
As Jim entered his cabin he found Spock still resting on his bed. “That’s fine.” He smiled. “To come in and find you in my bed, I mean. I could have this every day.”
“You are a hot and horny Human.”
Jim couldn’t stop himself from laughing out aloud as Spock repeated his former phrase. He threw his shoes away and began to pull his trousers down.
“How is Dr. McCoy?”
“He’s better. At least I hope so. He feels guilty, thinks that Ben only used him for his revenge on me. And he’s lonely. I think I’ve neglected our friendship too much lately.”
Now completely naked, Jim climbed in the bed and kissed Spock. “I never asked you to do so.” The Vulcan said.
“I know, Spock. I just enjoy our being together way too much, I don't wish to miss any second I can spend with you.” Jim snuggled closer. “As I was leaving, Dr. M’Benga was just coming. He seems to be a nice guy. And for Bones, it may be good to have another doctor around. At least they can have professional discussion. And…”
He started to tease a green nipple, which was already hardening under his touch. “Hm, I’m not tired anymore” Jim murmured. “But what I wanted to say is, they would make a nice couple. Do you think I could play match-maker?”
“Jim!” Spock - for safety - closed Jims mouth with a kiss, before his lover could come up with more such, in his opinion, dangerous ideas.
