I lay in bed alone, awaiting his arrival
my naked body bathed in the soft amber light of candles
then suddenly he is there
my father a silhouette of silver, silk and shadows.


My arms are open, an invitation.
and he moves to rest beside me
his warm body most welcome
all silk over steel.


He cradles me gently
holding back his strength
his eyes a spark of fire
as he dips his head to drink my kisses.


the rest of the world no longer exists
when we become one in a dance of love
and passion reigns supreme
exploding into a million shards of white-hot light.


Filled with the simple happiness
of just being with one another
as we lie still again
in one other's arms.
